April 2025 Arbor Day planting.

We planted a River Birch on the Two Rivers Greenway walking trail at the Ivanhoe Rd. entrance, near our 2024 tulip tree.

BGC President, Cheryl Miller, left, with Sybille Sullivan, 1st Vice President-Programs at the luncheon

Our April 2025 Spring Luncheon was held at the Copper Top in Vestal. Steak, Chicken and Fish were the main delicacies, with French Fries, and also a delicious cake for dessert. We got to say hellos to those we haven't seen recently in a friendly, cozy atmosphere.

Our members toured "Gourdlandia" near Ithaca, NY. We met in their living gourd house, Left, and then, after a tour of their grounds, we went inside to hear a presentation about gourds and their myriad uses, Right.

In June, Amy Cook, a member of "Lamb to Loom Fiber Guild", made a presentation to our members. She demonstrated the art of spinning

In July, we enjoyed our annual picnic at the pavilion in Otsiningo Park. First, thank you to Cheryl Miller for getting us great lunches. Second, thank you, Frank, for sharing your love of Succulents with us. And you can see in the photos below, everyone really enjoyed the outing.

Then, in August we toured "Twining Seasons U-Pick Flower Farm" located in Friendsville, PA. Beautiful flowers, tasty teas and snacks, and everyone had a great time!

Early in September, Linda Svboda, from the Cornell Cooperative extension in Broome County, educated us in the identification of Weeds! After her enlightening presentation, we all enjoyed the goodies furnished by members.

Later in September we took a very informative field trip to "Kutik's Everything Bees", an amazing facility just up the road in Oxford, NY. We learned about the bees' life, use for pollination all along the East US Coast, and even got to see them "In Action". NOTE: Seems one escaped and settled on a native Aster!
