Continuing Projects

Otsiningo Park Blue Star Memorial By-Way /Monarch Way Station

We welcome those who visit the park to stop by and observe our efforts to honor our military veterans and beautify the entrance to the park. In addition, the club created and maintains a Monarch Way Station at the north end of the park. Monthly planting and cleanup times will be announced approximately a week in advance.

Arbor Day Tree Planting

A native tree or shrub is selected and planted each year in observance of Arbor Day.

National Garden Week

The Binghamton Garden Club will join with National Garden Clubs across the country in celebrating National Garden Week (June 1-7) by tabling a booth at the Broome County Farmer's Market on June 7th to educate the public on gardening for pollinators.

New York State Fair

Each year, club members have assisted the New York State Fair flower show competition by serving as hostesses, clerks and judges. We also have members who enter designs for display and judging.

NOTE:

Although the link is currently active, the Flower Show data is not yet available. We will let you know when it is.

Plant a Row for Chow/Food Insecurity Project

Binghamton Garden Club members are encouraged to plant an extra row of vegetables or to bring nonperishable food items to our monthly meetings to be delivered to our local food bank CHOW (Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse).

Blocks in Bloom

Blocks in Bloom is a project of the Broome County Cornell Cooperative Extension master gardener volunteer program, helping City of Binghamton residents in lower resourced neighborhoods create front yard flower gardens to beautify their block. The Garden club will work with Master Gardeners to supply the program with plants and supplies.
